     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upCp4嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerCp4嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanCp4嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034Cp4嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageCp4嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atCp4嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andCp4嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.Cp4嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectCp4嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionCp4嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.Cp4嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highCp4嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aCp4嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theCp4嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthCp4嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canCp4嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theCp4嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.Cp4嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation Cp4嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakCp4嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aCp4嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachCp4嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andCp4嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumCp4嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorCp4嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theCp4嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlCp4嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichCp4嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theCp4嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.Cp4嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification Cp4嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toCp4嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forCp4嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isCp4嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theCp4嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheCp4嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSCp4嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesCp4嘉泰姆
