Internal Regulator vuR嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentvuR嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsvuR嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KvuR嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCvuR嘉泰姆
performance.vuR嘉泰姆

Error AmplifiervuR嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andvuR嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenvuR嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,vuR嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationvuR嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. vuR嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartvuR嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingvuR嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)vuR嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSvuR嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanvuR嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.vuR嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupvuR嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valuevuR嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isvuR嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isvuR嘉泰姆
triggered, the CXSD61054 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisvuR嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averagevuR嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect thevuR嘉泰姆
regulator. The CXSD61054 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isvuR嘉泰姆
removed. vuR嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown vuR嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. ThevuR嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then thevuR嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingvuR嘉泰姆
