Internal Regulator qWm嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentqWm嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsqWm嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KqWm嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCqWm嘉泰姆
performance.qWm嘉泰姆

Error AmplifierqWm嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andqWm嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenqWm嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,qWm嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationqWm嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. qWm嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartqWm嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingqWm嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)qWm嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSqWm嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanqWm嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.qWm嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupqWm嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueqWm嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isqWm嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isqWm嘉泰姆
triggered, the CXSD61054 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisqWm嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageqWm嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theqWm嘉泰姆
regulator. The CXSD61054 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isqWm嘉泰姆
removed. qWm嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown qWm嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. TheqWm嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theqWm嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingqWm嘉泰姆
