     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upFx6嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerFx6嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanFx6嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034Fx6嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageFx6嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atFx6嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andFx6嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.Fx6嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectFx6嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionFx6嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.Fx6嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highFx6嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aFx6嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theFx6嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthFx6嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canFx6嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theFx6嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.Fx6嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation Fx6嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakFx6嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aFx6嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachFx6嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andFx6嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumFx6嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorFx6嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theFx6嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlFx6嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichFx6嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theFx6嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.Fx6嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification Fx6嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toFx6嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forFx6嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isFx6嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theFx6嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheFx6嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSFx6嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesFx6嘉泰姆
