     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upZ30嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerZ30嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanZ30嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034Z30嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageZ30嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atZ30嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andZ30嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.Z30嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectZ30嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.Z30嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionZ30嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.Z30嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highZ30嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aZ30嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theZ30嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthZ30嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canZ30嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theZ30嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.Z30嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation Z30嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakZ30嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aZ30嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachZ30嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andZ30嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumZ30嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorZ30嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theZ30嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlZ30嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichZ30嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theZ30嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.Z30嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification Z30嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toZ30嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forZ30嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isZ30嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theZ30嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheZ30嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSZ30嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesZ30嘉泰姆
