     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-uphN1嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerhN1嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanhN1嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034hN1嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltagehN1嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency athN1嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andhN1嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.hN1嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effecthN1嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.hN1嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionhN1嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.hN1嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highhN1嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at ahN1嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses thehN1嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthhN1嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canhN1嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and thehN1嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.hN1嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation hN1嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakhN1嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at ahN1嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachhN1嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andhN1嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumhN1嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorhN1嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and thehN1嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlhN1嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichhN1嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and thehN1嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.hN1嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification hN1嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier tohN1嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forhN1嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier ishN1嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by thehN1嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. ThehN1嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOShN1嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporateshN1嘉泰姆
