Internal Regulator ekm嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentekm嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsekm嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600Kekm嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCekm嘉泰姆
performance.

Error Amplifierekm嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andekm嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenekm嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,ekm嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationekm嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. ekm嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-Startekm嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingekm嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)ekm嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSekm嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanekm嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.ekm嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and Hiccupekm嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueekm嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isekm嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isekm嘉泰姆
triggered, the CXSD61054 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. Thisekm嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageekm嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theekm嘉泰姆
regulator. The CXSD61054 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isekm嘉泰姆
removed. ekm嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown ekm嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. Theekm嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theekm嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingekm嘉泰姆
